Long time no post huh?
I've been subscribed to a tech blog that I'm enjoying for a time now and they just posted a contest that is hard to pass up. Being that it's a good blog with some pretty good posts about techy stuff, I thought that I'd write an entry about their laptop contest ... and it gets me some points in the contest.
Anyway, they are giving away a $3,000 laptop! A winners choice of one of three different ones. check out the contest at The Tech Don do the things that are in red (within the post) to enter and goin points in the contest. Ciao for now!

Global Climate Change argument nullified - 4 possibilities!!
The title for this video "The Most Terrifying Video You'll Ever See" may sound sensationalistic but watch it through to the end. This guy should be put on a stage and broadcast worldwide...oh wait, he is (youtube). I would like to see all world leaders (namely Bush to start with) hear his argument and respond to him on live TV. Digg for the future!

The First Cyberwar? Groundzero: Estonia
This is pretty crazy! Shows the power of Bot-Networks and why everyone should be a whole lot more diligent in updating their computers and installing Routers on their home networks, even if there is only one computer. These thoughts won't make you immune they certainly will be a help in keep your computer clean of these bot viruses. The attackers used a giant network of bots, perhaps as many as 1 million computers in places as far away as the U.S. and Vietnam — to amplify the impact of their assault. In a sign of their financial resources, there is evidence that they rented time on other so-called botnets. The 10 largest assaults blasted streams of 90 Mbit/s for 10 hours each.

Coupon Codes are your friend!
Wow two in one day after such a long time! This is something that I just had to share!
Coupon Codes are your friend! You're thinking WTF? Read on!
Three times now I've saved money with online orders by googling for coupon codes (sometimes referred to as Promotion Codes). Basically, when you are filling out an online order form with all of your shipping details and whatnot after shopping around a site, there may be a field on one of the pages named "Coupon Code" or "Promotion Code". This is your friend. All you do is open a new browser window or tab, go to google and type in the name of the site you're on and the exact words they use for the field, and hit search. If that isn't fruitful, then try some alternate words for the field (ie. if it's labeled Coupon Code on the site then try Promotion Code/Number or Savings Code/Number). There are entire sites out there dedicated to these codes! Anyway, if you are fruitful in your search, just go back to your other browser window and paste in the code you found and apply it. If it doesn't work, try another. I haven't found a situation where more than one would work on the same order but it doesn't hurt to try right? I've got a free product from one site (it was a useless product, but it was free!), I saved the shipping charges on my cell phone (saved me 20-ish bux) and I've saved 10% on ordering Contacts! (pretty much paid for the shipping there too!)
Anyway, happy saving!
Till next time!
Been a While
Well, as usual, I get a great idea to do something that requires some consistent action and others might start to rely on it ... then the inevitable, I stop or forget or just get bored of the thing that I dreamed up. Well, this blog is one of those things.
Today I thought I'd post a link to my shared articles from Google Reader. I pour over my Google Reader feeds every day. Reading about tech stuff, tech security stuff, and just other miscellaneous stuff. Anyway, the link is HERE. This, is a new thing like I mentioned above, but the best part is, all I have to do is click a "Share" link when I'm reading my feeds and the rest of you will see them.

Playing Google Videos on iPod, another tool for your transcoding toolbox
Although Google bought and YouTube, the Google Video service is still up and running and there are still a number of videos out there that don't seem to be on YouTube, but are on Google Video. Well, good ol' Google recognizes that people like to put videos on their iPod's and PSP's and so, on the right, when on video.google.com watching a video, there is a dropdown list and a download link on the right of the video you're watching. Just choose "Video iPod/Sony PSP" from the list and click the download link and tada, it hands you a download window to download the video in a compatible format for your viewing pleasure.
Till next time ...
